Welcome to the 2022 Q1 edition of the Pune Learns Newsletter! We hope you’ve had a wonderful start to the year! In this newsletter, we cover exciting news and updates from January to March.
Change is coming!
In an endeavour to streamline our programs for children, we are are combining our existing ‘English Communication’ and ‘Holistic Development’ programs!
What this means –
- We’re revamping the curriculum by meaningfully linking English topics with Holistic Development topics such as creativity, time management, etc.
- Learning English will now be more fun with activity based components targeted at promoting all-round growth, associated with each English topic
Timeline: We’re working towards launching this program in June 2022! More updates to follow.
February ’22 All-Volunteer Meet
In February, we hosted our first all-volunteer meet of the year. The objective of such meets is to enable volunteers to learn more about Pune Learns and engage meaningfully with the team. We hope to host our next all-volunteer meet in person!
Collaboration with ‘Samarthanam’
‘Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled’ is a national award-winning NGO working towards the empowerment of persons with disabilities and the underserved. We have collaborated with Samarthanam by inducting their students in our ‘Empowered Communication Program’. Currently 18 students are participating in the program.
We’re Recruiting!
We’re looking for individuals passionate about the cause of equity in education to join our team!
We currently have two open core team positions: Mentorship Program Team Lead & Empowered Communication Program Lead
Program overview for each of the two programs is presented in the downloadable version. Both are Operations positions wherein each program lead will be responsible for end-to-end management of their program. There will be 1 or 2 others working in each program team.
For both programs, we require a minimum time commitment of 1 year and 3-5 hours per week. Each program lead will have the opportunity to interact with volunteers and students, make strategic program decisions and monitor performance. More details at the link below.
