We’re always encouraging our students to exercise their creative writing skills. For the end of the year we decided to test this out ourselves and quickly discovered that it’s not as easy as you’d think. Here’s our attempt – a lighthearted look at the year gone by!

We find ourselves reminiscing
About the early months of the year
When we’d conduct in-person classes
Who knew COVID was so near?

When the pandemic struck in March
Seemingly out of the blue
We scrambled to start a fundraiser
Part 1 was a success so we did a Part 2

Missing our students terribly
We began our online journey
Zoom became our best friend
We’re thankful things are going smoothly

Come summer, an opportunity knocked
To work with a new age group – adults!
Our PCC collab empowered professional communication
We’re extremely proud of the result

After months of isolation
“Mental health advocate” became our new role
Through SAC’s emotional growth sessions
We’re glad we met our goal

In light of the year’s progress
We came up with a special way to celebrate
A Children’s Day magic show for our kids
We cherish the memories we could create

As our final act this year
We took more students under our wing
We welcome Maher and SOFOSH’s kids
And are excited for what the new year will bring!
